Saratoga Battlefield National Park, Schylerville, NY
The battle of Saratoga was considered one of the key decisive battles of the American Revolution. Victory by the Americans on Oct 17, 1777 stopped Burgoyne's army and destroyed the British plan to divide and conquor the colonies by controlling a corridor from Canada to NYC.
As per the park brochure: "Thus was gained one of the most decisive victories in American and world history."
Neilson's Farmhouse was used as the American command center during this battle.
